The dress she is wearing is mine, and I also styled her hair and applied her make up.

Hairy Maclary and Animorph

Meet Hairy Erin. She believes that hairdressers are the devil reincarnated and that all life's little hiccups can be solved with a dollop of Pantene, lathered and repeated.
I've had this idea in my head for a while and after someone mentioned that my hair was what "made" most of my photos, I decided to do a number of shoots inspired by my hair. I'm wearing my Christmas dress that I received off of my boyfriend a little bit early (he also got some of his). People say I look like a pixie when I am in it.

Meet Lion Erin. She prides herself on having eyes like David Bowie, but hates his song "Diamond Dogs". She says she gets mistaken for Simba's daughter too often to count and says men love her sexy smile.
When this fellow mentioned that he thought my hair was what "made" most of my photos, I thought of a lion and its mane. So I decided to animorph myself. I had trouble deciding what animal to splice myself with, so I resorted back to the original idea of lion. I think I may do many of these and further experiment.

The World In Her Hands.

Meet Atlas Erin. She sees the world like a snow globe, beautiful and delicate, and easily destructible if she so chooses. She says wind on Earth is all thanks to her mildly exhaling and earthquakes are due to her having a case of the hiccups.
I was going through old photos and came across this one from when I did a previous photo I called "Cosmos" (link). I decided I liked my sweet little smile and would use the photo to experiment with layers. This was the outcome, which I rather liked and decided I would keep and share.

Eyes Wide Shut.

I was lost for ideas so I tried to think of something simple and this came to mind. I wanted to take a photo because my hair was straightened for the first time in ages, and this was the resulting photo. I'm not entirely fond of it, but I like the concept.

Reign Over Me.

It's been really quite drizzly where I live lately, and I've been feeling a bit down and out of sorts lately as well as though I'm imitating the weather. This concept is widely known, I just thought I'd give it a shot. The initial idea was to put a cloud above my head but I found it looked a bit out of place when the photo was taken from this angle, which I love. So I just put rain on only me, which made me think of the movie "Reign Over Me" with Adam Sandler.

Four legged Erin.

I reckon it appear as though I'm some form of four legged animal, somewhat like the cartoon character Catdog. I decided on not wearing any clothes so that I could easily blend the two halves, but I tried to make it as modest as I could.

Skeleton butterfly.

I thought I looked a little odd in this photo, but I loved the position of the hand and came up with the idea to put bones on my flesh in photoshop. I like the outcome.

Two-faced.

Wanted to do two different faces, one looking down, the other up. But it didn't look as pleasing as this one. The shoulders aren't the same though.

Demon Eyes.

Simple photo. Only took a few shots to get the effect wanted. I love the outcome, even with all the pictures that hang on my wall in the background.

Boo and Baby.

These are my pet rats. The black one in my hands is named Boo and the white lab rat on my head is named Baby. Both are named after Rob Zombie movie characters. Boo is from Rob Zombie's "Halloween" and Baby is from his "House of 1000 Corpses" and "The Devil's Rejects". The Devils Rejects is actually where my username: shooshoosaidthemaiden comes from. Check out my butterfly hairclip. I bought it today, and have fallen head over heals for it.

Cosmos and Compass

Many people use the cosmos in their photos nowadays because there is a piknic edit that allows you to put it as a transparent layer over any photo of your choosing. So I decided to take it a step further and the photo above was the outcome.

I wanted to use my compass ring in a photo, so I came up with the concept of a journey and the idea to put a map over my face and as a background. Unfortunately, there aren't many stock photos of maps, and google images had a poor variety, so the map on my face turned out slightly blurry, having had to use a small image of a map to cover the large image that is my photo. But I rather like the outcome.

Plaits.

I took some more photos whilst my hair was in plaits:

Originally I just took a photo because I had my hair in plaits for the first time in a while and also to get a side view photo of myself. My kitty, whose name is Nyan was intrigued by the flash and the camera cord, so I let her feature in a number of photos, the first photo above being my favourite because of her odd, little facial expression.

The second photo reminded me of innocence and of being 'snatched up' by something nasty (could be any affliction, addiction or even another person) so I decided to add a few other hands to symbolise it. It's opened up an entirely new perspective on photos. Now I've a number of ideas for photos.
Think I need to start doing my hair new ways.

First blog.

I finally decided to begin blogging. I don't exactly know what I'm going to be blogging about, but I'm sure I'll think of something eventually. To start it off here's my latest photo that I've taken and edited of myself:

Lately I've seen heaps of photos where the person in them is covering their entire face with their hands. I liked the concept but didn't want to follow the crowd. I also didn't want the complete anonymity (I'd recently put up a photo where my entire face was covered by a balloon), so I came up with this. It was hard to figure out, but I think I managed OK with my limited knowledge of photoshop.
